The Metropolitan Police has announced that a motorist who knocked down a knife wielding attacker with his car in west London has been released without charge.

Leon McCaskre died after being hit by the vehicle in Maida Vale, moments after he stabbed his former partner Yasmin Chkaifi to death.

The driver of the car, a 26-year-old man known as Abraham, has now been released and his lawyer said Abraham was “grateful” the force had “taken this sensible course of action.”
