Culture Secretary Nadine Dorries has welcomed the IPC’s decision to ban Russian and Belarusian athletes from the Paralympics, adding that letting them compete would have been the “wrong call”.

Appearing emotional, she also offered her “heartfelt thanks and admiration” to journalists “risking their lives” working abroad.
