SAN FRANCISCO — The Golden State Warriors are listing star Stephen Curry as “probable” heading into the first game of their series against the Denver Nuggets.

“We expect him to play,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said. “We’ll see how he’s feeling tomorrow.”

Whether Curry comes back on Saturday or later in the series, he will start out on a minute restriction. What exactly that looks like is still to be determined. What Kerr does know, though, is that “he’s not playing 38 minutes.”

“We’re planning on playing him if everything goes well,” Kerr said. “We’ll bring him along slowly from there.”

Everything to this point has indicated that Curry’s rehab and ramp up from a sprained ligament and a bone bruise in his left foot have gone smoothly, but Kerr has deferred the final decision to the Curry and the team’s training staff.

“We expect him to play tomorrow,” Kerr said. “I’ll talk to the training staff each day to see how he responds and we’ll act accordingly.”
