Police helicopter joins search for missing woman

Police are still searching for a missing woman who vanished in Perth.

Investigating officers believe Clare Marshall, 64, left the Dundee Road area in the early hours of Monday and may have walked to Moncreiffe Island.

Extensive searches within the area and along the River Tay have taken place since the alarm was raised.

Specialist resources, including Police Scotland‘s helicopter, have been mobilised to help in the search.

Inspector Kris McCall said officers are “concerned” for Ms Marshall’s welfare.

He added: “I urge anyone with information about Clare’s whereabouts to get in touch with police by calling 101.

“Likewise, I would appeal directly to Clare: if you see this message, please contact the police or approach any officer so we can ensure you’re safe and well.”

Ms Marshall is described as 5ft 4in tall, of average build, and with shoulder-length grey hair.

It is believed she was wearing all black clothing at the time of her disappearance.
